SafetyNet
Want something to minimise nasty surprises while having reasonably open access to the internet? With a number of profiles ranging from 'light' to 'tight' Webshield SafetyNet puts enterprise grade filtering power at your disposal.
What are your concerns with the Internet? Webshield has solutions!
Options Include
Light - Only the most extreme content is blocked while borderline and R-Rated content is passed. View an example profile
Medium - A balance between protection and convenience; content such as Youtube, Flicker, online gambling sites are passed. View an example profile
Tight – Conservative profile designed to minimise risk; some may find it slightly inconvenient but offers a high level of protection without shutting down the Internet. View an example profile.

Weave your own Web
Want to lock down the Internet and limit it to known safe sites?
Weave your own web allows you to design your own white list, or use Webshield's white list that grows dynamically by the day.
Webshield can put you in control of Internet content.
Options Include
Convenient – A large range of safe sites including all Australian sites and services. There is a slight risk of inappropriate content but otherwise a good balance between risk and convenience.
Controled – A smaller range of vetted sites covering most essential sites and services. Sites can be added using the report forms.
Customised – You give us a list of sites you would like access to and we will block access to everything else.

Time Management
Time management allows you to manage the time that various profiles are available.
The options are unlimited but you may want to – block Facebook during homework time, limit Youtube to a few hours per day or restrict access to the Internet after a certain time.

Additional Safety features
In addition to the features described above there are also optional filtering presets designed to give a greater level of protection. All default profiles will include safe search lock and search word filtering.
Safe search lock - the safe search option found in popular search engines such as Google, Yahoo and Bing is enforced no matter what settings are selected in your browser. This employs the filtering power of the search engines in addition to Webshield's.
Search word filtering - filters based on search words and terms that are entered on any search engine. For example entering “porn” in any search engine would be blocked and no results returned.
URL key word filtering – Checks the URL on the internet address for key words and phrases. For example a photography site containing nudity may display the following address, www.photo.com/albums/nudes, the key word filter would pick this up and block the request.
3 Strikes Blocking – An anti tamper feature which detects pre-meditated searches for inappropriate material. When the filter detects 3 pornography block pages with in a specified minute period, internet access is suspended for 5 minutes.
